Men’s Lacrosse Closes Out Season With Loss To Raiders

NASHUA, NH. – The Anna Maria College Men's lacrosse team (2-15; 1-9) traveled to Nashua, NH to take on the Rivier University Raiders (11-3; 7-2) for their last game of the season. The AMCATS lost the game 19-6.

After seven unanswered goals from the Raiders, the AMCATS broke their silence with a man up goal from Hank Gittines with just eight seconds left in the quarter. Trailing behind the Raiders 7-1 going into the second quarter the AMCATS were the first to strike after Gittines put away his second goal of the evening off a pass from Ethan Quinn. Quinn would go on to feed Ricky Rosado for the AMCATS third goal just two minutes later. The Raiders responded with two goals to add to their lead over the AMCATS, but Gittines wasn't fazed, tucking his third goal of the night. Going into halftime the AMCATS still trailed behind the raiders 10-4.

Two quick goals from the raiders would get things started in the second half. It wasn't until late in the quarter when defenseman Jeff Robinson would get the scoring going for the AMCATS. Unfortunately the AMCATS last goal of the night would come with just over minute left in the third quarter as Liam Bedenkop fed Tommy Girard for the AMCATS sixth goal. The Raiders held the AMCATS scoreless for the remainder of the game closing the game out over the AMCATS 19-6.
