Lasers Burn Men’s Lacrosse 24-5

NEWTON, MA. – The Anna Maria Men's lacrosse team (1-8; 0-3) traveled to Newton, MA on Saturday, March 25th to take on the Lasell University Lasers (5-4; 3-0). The AMCATS lost the game 24-5.

The AMCATS dropped twelve unanswered goals to the Lasers in the first quarter, only finding the back of the net once off the stick of Liam Bedenkop with just over a minute left in the quarter.

Trailing 12-1 after just fifteen minutes the AMCATS needed to try and respond. An early goal from the lasers started the quarter but the AMCATS fired back as Bedenkop fed Aiden Foster for the AMCATS second goal of the night. The AMCATS didn't find twine again until late in the quarter when Hank Gittines put away an unassisted goal. Despite there being more life in the AMCATS offense the team still trailed 15-3 at the end of the first half.

A scoreless third quarter for the AMCATS drove them further behind the Lasers allowing five goals to put Lasell up 20-3 over the AMCATS going into the final fifteen minutes of the game.

Desperately trying to scratch back the AMCATS found the back of the net twice in the final quarter off a goal from Foster for his second of the night and another from the new comer Mason Eichmann. Unfortunately the AMCATS would close the game out behind the Lasers 24-5.
