Lasers Down Women's Lacrosse

NEWTON, Mass. (3/18/14) – The Lasell College women's lacrosse team won their Great Northeast Athletic Conference opener, 22-0 over Anna Maria College. The Lasers evened their overall record at 3-3 with the victory while Anna Maria dropped to 0-2 overall and in the GNAC.

 

Taylor Dooley (Barnstable, Mass.) scored four goals for the Lasers while Ashley Gleason (Suffield, Conn.) chipped in three goals and two assists, and Britney Wuorio (Bolton, Mass.) and Toni Minelli (Newington, Conn.) each added two goals and three assists. Stefanie Welch Hancock, N.H.) tallied three goals for Lasell, Bridget Munnelly (Bellingham, Mass.) finished with two goals and two assists and Solange Carpenter ()Gorham, Maine) scored once and assisted on one goal.

 

Shannon Donovan (Marlborough, Mass.) made seven saves in the loss for Anna Maria and Amy Clement (Townsend, Mass.) scooped up a team-high three draw controls.

 

Lisi Anczok (Buffalo, N.Y.) opened the scoring on an assist form Pechulis for Lasell and Taylor Dooley notched a hat-trick in the opening minutes and Lasell didn't allow Anna Maria to gain any momentum on their way to the win.

 

Anna Maria will host Emmanuel on Friday March 21st at 4:00 p.m. while Lasellwill travel to Johnson and Wales University on Saturday March 22nd at 1:00 p.m.
