Softball Sweeps Pine Manor

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Softball team will end their season with a pair of wins against non-conference opponent Pine Manor. The AMCATS took game one 17-4 and game two 15-3.

 

Records: PMC 0-22. AMC 5-24

 

How it Happened

The Gators came out of the game swinging, putting up a three run top of the first with Nahalia Faurot getting two of those runs batted in.

The AMCATS answered right back with an eight run bottom of the first, with Sabrina Carreira (West Hartford, CT) leading the way. Carreira was perfect from the plate getting four hits in her four at bats, along with batting in two runs. Kayla Mageirowski (Brimfield, Mass.) picked up another three hits for the 'CATS with one coming by the way of a two RBI double.

The Gators led game two off with a bang on a solo blast from Kiana Wilkerson on the second pitch of the game.

Michelle Cilley (Dracut, Mass.) had the game high in RBI's with three in game two after going 2-for-3 with an additional run scored. Carreira continued her day with another two hits and two runs batted in, she also scored six runs combined throughout the two games.

 

Pitching

Victoria Falco (Marlborough, Mass.) got her third win of the season after pitching five innings, with eight hits allowed and just the four earned runs.

Ashley Smith got the loss for game one dropping to 0-14 on the season. Smith made it through four innings giving up sixteen hits and nine earned runs.

 

Ashley Garcia (Cornwall, NY) got the win for the AMCATS in game two, after a five inning performance with only five hits given up with just one earned run.

Kristina Giunta pitched four innings with nine hits allowed and ten earned runs in the loss.

 

These contests were the last for the AMCATS this season.
