Pavoni and Schwarz Named GNAC Rookie and Goalkeeper of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman Brandon Pavoni (Granby, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the week and sophomore Paul Schwarz (Staten Island, N.Y.) earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week recognition following a 2-2 opening week for the Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team.

GNAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Newcomer, Brandon Pavoni has added a great deal of intensity to the AMCAT men's lacrosse line of attack. He posted eight goals and six assists for 14 points in four games last week for the AMCATS. He had hat tricks plus two assists against both Green Mountain and Wheelock. He tallied three goals in the AMCAT'S 15-3 season opener vs. Green Mountain College and notched another three goals in the 10-3 victory over Wheelock College. He currently posts a 78.6% shooting percentage and has eleven ground balls to go along with five caused turnovers.

GNAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Last year's GNAC Rookie of the Year, Schwarz made 78 saves for a 73.6% save percentage in a 2-2 week. He made 32 saves in a 12-4 setback at Bard on February 25. He finished with an 85.7% save percentage in a 10-3 victory for the AMCATS over Wheelock on March 1.
