Men's Hockey Brings Down Lions 5-3

PAXTON, Mass: 5-3 was the final from Horagan Arena this even where the Anna Maria Men's Ice Hockey Team took down Bryn Athyn in non-conference action.

The AMCATS (4-7-3) started off the contest with four consecutive goals. The first two came in the first period from Peter Dziegas (Fayetteville, NY), off of a Nick Kukuris (Littleton, CO) pass. The second came on a Aleksander Markov (Indian Trail, NC) shot, on a pass from Jack Sitzman (Redondo Beach, CA) and Sam Cyr-Ledoux (Montreal, QB). Anna Maria would go into the second period with a 2-0 lead.

The second period started off with another two AMCAT goals, the fist coming off the stick of Quinn Tucker (Hancock, NH) from Kukuris and Connor McIntosh (Spokane, WA). The second in the period came from Kevin Kaufman (Medway, Mass.), he was fed the puck by Alex Friend (Raleigh, NC) and Jaiden Gibson (Anchorage, AK). The lead now was 4-0 Anna Maria.

Bryn Athyn (4-8) was able to get on the board 15:58 into the period on a Power Play goal by Alec Grollman off of a pass from Erin Higgins and Devon Becker. With the goal the AMCAT lead was trimmed to just three.

Just three minutes later Anna Maria would come right back and score another goal from Drew Geoupille (Bedford, MI) shorthanded from Tucker. This goal pushed the lead back to four, as the AMCATS go up 5-1.

The third period raped up the scoring in the contest with two Bryn Athyn goals, the first coming from Tanner Congdon on a pass from Eric Higgins and Vojtech Luza. The second was off the stick of Congdon again but from Nick Malvasi and Jake Heckenberger. With that, it would bring it to the final of 5-3 with the AMCATS on top.
