Derek DuBois Joins Baseball Coaching Staff

PAXTON, Mass.—Anna Maria College baseball head coach Dave McNamara is pleased to announce the addition of Derek DuBois to his coaching staff. DuBois will work with the AMCAT pitching staff.

"I am more than excited to start my first coaching job here at Anna Maria," said DuBois. "I am really looking forward to sharing my experience and knowledge with these young student-athletes."

A 2013 graduate of nearby Clark University, DuBois had a decorated collegiate career. He earned New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference first team honors in 2014 and was a back-to-back All-Worcester Area selection (2013, 2014). He also completed a Master's degree at Clark in the spring of 2014.

In 31 career starts for Clark, DuBois compiled a 12-10 record with 148 strikeouts. He ranks sixth in all-time ERA (4.25), second in strikeouts per nine innings (8.74), third in wins (12) and second in strikeouts (148) in the Cougar record books.

Following graduation, DuBois headed north to Canada, where he signed professional contract with the Quebec Capitales of the CAN-AM League, an independent baseball league that features teams throughout the Northeastern United States as well as in Quebec and Ontario, Canada.

DuBois saw action in five games in Quebec and totaled nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings, while sacrificing just three hits and two earned runs. He finished the season with a 2.84 ERA, the third-lowest among the staff.

In the summer of 2013, Dubois pitched for the North Shore Navigators of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL), where he was named a league All-Star and was the Navigators' Most Valuable Pitcher. With the Navigators, DuBois tallied a 4-2 record with a 1.68 ERA and struck out 43 batters in 42.2 innings of work.

A native of Haverhill, Mass., DuBois currently works in construction and offers pitching lessons in the evenings to players of all ages.
