Larry Shell has joined the Anna Maria College Baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2025 season. Coach Shell is from Sandwich Mass where he is the Head Coach of Sandwich Post 188 American Legion Baseball. During his long tenure at Post 188 several of his players have found their way on to coach Briand’s rosters over the years and many others are on rosters throughout New England. Coach Shell was also the head coach at Sturgis West Charter High School in Hyannis for the last 6 seasons.  Several of his Sturgis players are currently playing college ball. In addition to those duties, Coach Shell is the President and Manager of Sandwich Senior Babe Ruth.  He has served as the assistant coach for the Cape Cod Senior Babe Ruth All-Star State Tourney team on several occasions.

Over the last 30 plus years Coach Shell has coached at every level from T -ball to high school and Legion. Several of his teams have competed in district, state, regional, and national championship tournaments.  

Coach Shell is a 1994 Summa Cume Laude graduate from Palmer College where he received dual degrees, a BS in Science and Doctor of Chiropractic.  Shell had a private practice in Sandwich for over 20 years. 

His son Jason played for Coach Briand at Anna Maria from 2017-2022 and was the GNAC Player of the Year and earned All-Conference and All- Region Honors during the 2022 season. Jason graduated with a degree in Fire Science and is currently a firefighter on the Sandwich Fire Department.
