2018 Men's Soccer Preview

PAXTON, Mass- With the start of the season just over a week away, the Anna Maria Men's soccer team is back and beginning preseason practices preparing for the upcoming 2018 season. 

At the beginning of the month, head coach Jacob Pesarcik and the AMCATS released their 2018 schedule, which will consist of eighteen regular season games. Of those eighteen games, eleven are against Great Northeast Athletic Conference teams. 

Going into his first year as the head coach, Pesarcik brought in six first year student-athletes to the men's soccer program, joining the eleven returning players from the 2017 season. 

The AMCATS begin their season with a tournament at Salem State University on Friday August 31stwhere they will take on Curry College at 3:00 pm and then either Salem State or Southern Vermont College on Saturday. They will remain on the road for three additional games, squaring off against Pine Manor, and GNAC opponents Colby-Sawyer, and Norwich to open conference play. The home opener for Men's Soccer comes on Wednesday September 19th at 4:00pm against conference foe University of Saint Joseph (Conn.). Pesarcik's squad will also take part in Anna Maria College's Homecoming Weekend festivities when they host Lasell College in GNAC play on September 29that 4:00pm on AMCAT Field.

The home and away split for the 'Cats is 8 home games to 10 away contests; They conclude the road portion of their schedule against non-conference opponent Massachusetts Maritime Academy on October 22ndand their home schedule wraps up with a non-conference game against Eastern Connecticut on October 24thwhich will also be Senior Day.
