Women’s Basketball Can’t Stop Chargers
PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College women's basketball team lost 67-55 to visiting Colby-Sawyer College on Sunday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Fuller Center in Paxton.

THE GAME WAS DECIDED WHEN:
- After leading 18-17 after the first quarter, the Chargers pulled away in the second to take a 37-23 lead. Colby-Sawyer led by as much as 18 in the third quarter, and Anna Maria never threatened again.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Anna Maria freshman forward Marinique Reddin (Tampa, FL) overcame a slow start to finish with 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the AMCATS. The rookie has scored in double-digits in six straight games.
- Colby Sawyer freshman forward Marissa Holt (Alfred, ME) led the Chargers with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Anna Maria senior guard and team captain Franchesca Hammond (Worcester, MA) scored 15 points with five assists, five rebounds, four steals and a block.
- Colby Sawyer junior guard Emily Parent (Oakland, ME) finished with 11 points and three rebounds, while freshman forward Megan Molettierri (Pelham, NH) pulled down nine boards.
- Anna Maria senior guard Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, MA) matched a season-high with 11 points on the day.
- Rebounding doomed the AMCATS, as the Chargers enjoyed a 57-34 advantage on the boards.
