Women's Basketball Bested by SUNY Poly

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Women's Basketball team fell to SUNY Poly in the St John Fisher tournament this evening 72-51, in Pittsford, New York.

 

The Wildcats (1-0) were led by Taylor Aybar who finished with a game high 21 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Aybar was followed by Molly Burdick who finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

 

The AMCATS (0-4) finished with three double digit scorers in the contest, starting with Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.), who finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. With being the highest scorer for her team, she extends her streak to three games in a row. Franchesca Hammond (Worcester, Mass.) broke the 10-point mark for the first time this season with 12 points. Sienna Johnson (Brockton, Mass.) rounds up the leading scorers as she finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Johanna Burke (Oxford, Mass.) finished the fourth straight game where she has had the team and game high in rebounds, as she ended 9 boards in the contest.
