Baseball Clawed by Fighting Scots

PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Baseball Team fell to Gordon College this afternoon in non-conference action 27-12 at NEBC in Northborough.

 

Records: Gordon 4-18. Anna Maria 8-16.

 

The Fighting Scots were carried by Christian Hodge who put together a 5-for-5 day with two homeruns and a total of eight RBI's. Mikey Oley and Joseph Mack both batted in another three apiece, with Oley going 2-for-4 and Mack going 3-for-6.

 

The AMCATS offense was sparked by Adam Twitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.) who batted in a team high four RBI's off of his two hits in three at bats. Right behind him was Kosta Drosidis (Holden, Mass.) who continues to stay hot at the plate. Drosidis hit his second homerun this season that was a three run shot while also tallying four total hits out of his six at bats. Nick Genatossio (Sutton, Mass.) went 1-for-5 with a two run homerun.

 

Pitching

 

Evan Paquette will get the win for today's contest, after four innings of work with six hits and five earned runs. Paquette will move to 1-0 on the season.

 

Jackson Dobek (Natick, Mass.) will be tagged with the loss dropping him to 0-1 on the season. Dobek pitched one and two thirds innings allowing four hits and seven earned runs.

The AMCATS will be back on the field this Saturday at Clark university to play Saint Joseph's College in conference double header. First pitch will be at 3:30 PM.
