PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College softball team took both ends of a doubleheader against visiting Dean College on Sunday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action in Paxton.

TURNING POINT:
- GAME ONE – the AMCATS made the most of a seven-run fourth inning that was capped by a two-run home run by senior third baseman Samantha Dahill. In the circle, senior right-handed pitcher Sabrina Liston (Rehoboth, MA) threw five shutout innings while striking out seven and not walking a batter to earn her third win of the season
- GAME TWO – sophomore pitcher Eden Forget (Worcester, MA) settled down after giving up two first-inning runs to throw six innings of five-hit ball and improved to 3-4 on the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The AMCATS had eight extra-base hits, including five doubles in game two and Dahill's homer in game one.
- Sophomore catcher Saylor Costa (E. Providence, RI) had a career day, going 4-7 on the day with a double in each game, a run scored and another driven in.
- Senior infielder Michelle Cilley (Dracut, MA) joined Costa in the multiple double club, hitting one in each game while scoring one and driving in another.
- Forget did her part with the bat as well, scoring four runs and stealing a base.
- Senior centerfielder Kassandra Register (Bakersfield, CA) went 3-5, including 3-3 in game two, with three driven in and one run scored. Her two-RBI single capped a five-run first inning in game two.
- For the Bulldogs, Miranda Seacord (Cambridge, NY) had five hits, including a perfect 3-3 in game one, with two stolen bases and a run scored.
UP NEXT:
The AMCATS will return to the field on Monday with a doubleheader at home against Worcester State. The first pitch is scheduled for 3 pm.
