Men's Tennis Falls To Becker

WORCESTER, Mass.- Becker College defeated Anna Maria College 8-1 in non conference men's tennis action Thursday afternoon. The win moves the Hawks record to 4-3, while the AMCATS fall to 1-7.

Anna Maria earned a win in top singles action when Calvin Weeks (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) defeated Aaron Peterson (San Diego, Calif.) in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.  Becker took number two singles when Brian Fradsham (West Boylston, Mass.) outlasted Tim Patenaude (Monson, Mass.) 6-4, 6-3. In number three singles action; sophomore Brittan Morris (Cedar Park, Texas) downed George Kiritsy (Holden, Mass.) 6-0, 6-2. Becker's Tyler Newsome (Brantford, Ont.) clawed his way to a 6-3 6-1 victory over Tyler Crabb (Wareham, Mass.) in number four singles, while Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore.) soared past Eric Boll (Millbury, Mass.), 6-0, 6-0 in number five singles.

Becker won number six singles and number three doubles by default.

 The best match of the day was top doubles action where Brittan Morris and Tyler Newsome won a hard fought battle with Calvin Weeks and George Kiritsy, 9-8.  In number two doubles play, Becker's tandem of Brian Fradsham and William Humfryes (Falmouth, Mass.) defeated Tyler Crabb and Eric Boll, 8-4.

Both teams return to the court on Saturday, April 12. Becker will host NECC rival Newbury College at 1:00 p.m., while Anna Maria welcome GNAC foe Norwich University at 6:00 p.m.
