Men’s Tennis: Bears Claw Past AMCATS

Paxton, Mass. – The Anna Maria College men's tennis team fell to visiting Bridgewater State University 7-2 in non-conference action on Saturday evening at Paxton Sports Center. The AMCATS remain winless on the season at 0-3, while the Bears improve to 2-1.

 

Sophomore Dillon George (Holden, Mass.) continued his torrid start for Anna Maria remaining unbeaten at the No. 1 singles flight. George dropped BSU's Jesse Gotlib (Dartmouth, Mass.) 6-1, 6-0 at the top slot. The doubles tandem of George and Calvin Weeks scored the only other point for AMC. The No. 1 doubles team downed their counter-parts Eric Johnson and Cody Farrell, 8-6 in opening match action.

 

Bridgewater's Hung Huynh was 2-0 on the day, scoring a straight set win at the No. 3 singles slot and teamed with Gotlib for an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.

 

Anna Maria returns to action on Monday evening when they host Lesley University at 7:30 p.m.
