The first week of AMCAT Esports is in the books!

This week saw Rainbow 6 Siege take on Fisher College, the University of Wisconsin – Plateville, and the University of Central Florida. While Fisher and Wisconsin proved too difficult for the AMCATS to overcome, a change came during the match against Central Florida. Freshman Alfredo Rodriguez took over the role of "In-Game-Leader" or "IGL" from sophomore Casey Atwood. This position swap allowed Atwood to better focus on his aggressive playstyle and led to a 7-1 victory over the Knights.

Overwatch played Elmira College Wednesday night, followed by Harper College, and SUNY Oneonta on Thursday. The AMCATS cruised to a sweeping victory over Elmira following a loss on map one. Freshman Alfredo Rodriguez was once again a standout as he was substituted in after that first loss and took over the enemy backline as Genji leading to a 3-1 win. On Thursday, Harper College suffered an unfortunate roster problem which led to the AMCATS winning by Forfeit. SUNY Oneonta's incredible teamwork then proved too much to handle later that night as the AMCATS fell 1-3.

Call of Duty experienced a commanding 3-1 victory over Alfred State on Friday evening. Graduate student Drew Paulhus motivated his team following their map 2 loss and freshman Alfredo Rodriguez led the team in points.

Super Smash Bros fell to Concordia Wisconsin 2-0, bringing the overall Esports Program Record to 4-4 after week one.
