Anna Maria Esports Joins NECC

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College Esports team, a nascent program announced this past March, is proud to announce that they have accepted an invitation to join the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC).

"We are thrilled to be welcome Anna Maria College and their esports community to the NECC beginning this fall." Jacob VanRyn, the Commissioner of the conference, said in a statement. "Under the direction of their leadership - in Athletic Director Joe Brady and Director of Esports Zachary Gandara - I have no doubt that not only will they be an outstanding addition to the conference, but they will also be extremely competitive in each of the titles they compete in with us."

The NECC began sponsoring esports in the fall of 2020. The conference currently sponsors both regular season competition and championships across a wide variety of popular titles. The conference aims to serve the gaming community with respect and is proud to be a safe and inclusive environment. With more than 100 colleges and universities currently competing in the conference, the NECC strives to be a positive home for the collegiate gaming community.

"I am very excited to be competing this year in the NECC." Said Anna Maria Director of Esports Zachary Gandara. "The roster of schools is incredibly competitive and will provide for a great inaugural season."

The NECC was started as a way to provide the collegiate gaming community with the respect it warranted and deserved. The conference prides itself on responding to the needs of its schools, directors, coaches, and most importantly, it's players.
