Softball’s Strikeout Cancer Game Raises Money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute

PAXTON, Mass: This past Saturday the Anna Maria Softball team raised money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to help those who have cancer, survived cancer, and those who have beaten cancer.

 

The inspiration for the events that took place, which comprised of a raffle and wrist bands being sold is senior captain Sabrina Carreira sister Kristina Carreira who has been battling Melanoma Cancer for the past year.

 

The day stated with a surprise ceremonial first pitch from Kristina herself, who showed perfect form on the pitch.

 

You will be able to see the AMCATS back in action this Tuesday when they travel to take on Dean, with first pitch coming at 3:00 PM.
