A School Record Eight AMC Football Players Named to the ECFC All-Conference Teams

Wilmington, V.T. – The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) announced its 2017 all-conference teams following a vote of the conference coaches. A total of 83 student-athletes received recognition after the completion of the regular season. Of those players a school record eight AMCATS were selected including two freshmen and five players that will be returning for the 2018 season.

Receiving First Team Offense recognition for Anna Maria was senior wide receiver Trai Weaver (Waterbury, Conn) who caught 51 passes for a conference leading 911 yards and 12 touchdowns which also led the ECFC. Weaver had three games with over 100 receiving yards including a four catch, 210-yard, two touchdown performance in a 36-34 win over Alfred State on October 21st. Trai played in 40 games in his AMCAT career catching 119 balls for 2,033 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Junior offensive lineman Dan Stout (Mercerville, N.J.) Second Team Offense. Stout has played in 24 games so far in his AMC career and was voted AMCAT rookie of the year by his coaches and teammates in his freshman year. Head Coach Dan Mulrooney said that Stout has been instrumental to the offensive line and can't wait to see what he brings to the table next year. This is Dan's second All-Conference team selection as he was named an honorable mention for 2016.  

Senior punter Camden Brown (Gardner, Mass) received Second Team Defense honors as he led the conference in average yards per punt at 37.1 and long 67 yards as well as pinning his opponents inside their 20-yard line six times. While Camden received honors for his conference leading punting ability he also spent time as a kick returner, quarterback and wide receiver tallying a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown on the year.

Five other AMCATS received honorable mentions on this year's All-Conference Team. Junior quarterback Emmanuel Leake (Providence, R.I.) who threw for 1,309 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. Leake posted 200 yard or better passing days on the year. His best coming against Gallaudet when he threw for 318 yards and a score. Freshman wide out Marquis Roderique (Dorchester, Mass) who had a break out year for the AMCATS catching 24 passes for 460 yards, which was sixth best in the conference, and a touchdown while also returning 32 kicks for 668 yards. His best game came against Mount Ida College where he caught 11 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown, which was a 63-yard reception. Junior defensive lineman Kai Nero-Clark (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) had 13 tackles and a sack to go along with seven assisted tackles, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble on the year. This is Kai's second honorable mention to the ECFC All-Conference team. Finally, is freshman linebacker Brian McLean (Montgomery, Ala) who recorded 29 tackles, 10 assisted tackles, seven and a half sacks, nine tackles for loss and a fumble recovery he returned 47 yards for a touchdown.

Congratulations to all eight of the AMCATS who received this honor from the ECFC.
