Football Announces 2017 Recruiting Class
Paxton, Mass.-- The Anna Maria College Football team announces their 2017 recruiting class today. Head Coach Dan Mulrooney is very pleased to announce a class of 105 hard-working incoming student-athletes for the fall.
Here is some insight on the Class of 2021 provided by the entire Anna Maria College football staff:
"I am thrilled about the quality of young men we have in our first recruiting class here at Anna Maria College. I want to thank my outstanding staff who has done a great job targeting high character people throughout the process. We filled all of our needs by position with players who are not only excellent athletes, but are proven leaders and good students. The 2017 class stretches over 9 states with our main focus being New England. This class of young men will embrace the new culture we are creating here at Anna Maria."

"I'm excited for the fall; we have some great student-athletes coming in especially at the outside linebacker position. In this incoming class we have some athletic outside linebackers who can rush off the edge, stop the run and cover in the pass game. These young men also possess unique qualities to make a positive impact on campus."
OLB Coach
"We are thrilled about the incoming group of Defensive Backs, this group has a vast amount of talent and versatility. With roughly 12 freshmen coming in at this position we are expecting big things and a lot of competition for starting positions. This group has talented players coming from 6 different states, and all will be key contributors for the AMCAT defense. This group promises to be some of the most athletic players on the team. We are very excited to start working with these young men, and see what they are capable of doing."
DB Coach
"We are very excited to have a great incoming freshman class of offensive skill players. We have valuable players from New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. At the quarterback position, we have guys that can make plays with both their arms as wells as their feet. They are smart players that will protect that ball and be the field general. At the Running Back Position, we have brought in some tough hard nose players that aren't afraid to deliver a blow to the defense with and without the ball. They have the speed to take the ball up the sideline and the power to run in between the tackles. At Wide Receiver, we have play-makers that need to get the ball in their hands. Guys that will run great routes and make the sure catch. We have tall and physical receivers that will go up and take the ball out of the air. At the Tight End position, we have guys that will do it all. They will be able to line up anywhere on the field that we need them to. They can be a beast in the run game with their blocking. In the passing game, they have unreal hands and ball skills. In our kicking game we have guys that will be able to change the game. That can be flipping the field on punt or kicking a long field goal."
