Eight AMCATS Earn ECFC Post-Season Recognition

Paxton, Mass. – Senior wide receiver Domenique Concepcion (Middlebury, Conn.), junior running back Robert Small (Sleepy Hollow, NY) and sophomore tight end Josh Sundquist (Windham, ME) were all named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) First Team while junior Jordan Koehler (West Warwick, RI) was named to the ECFC Second Team and four others received all-conference recognition as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.

Senior quarterback Shane Brozowski of Castleton was named Offensive Player of the Year while Gallaudet's Tony Tatum earned both Defensive Player of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year. Gallaudet freshman quarterback Todd Bonheyo was selected as the Rookie of the Year with Mount Ida's Matt Bonomolo was honored as the ECFC Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Concepcion set career marks for catches (72) and receiving yards (848) in 2012. He also scored 6 touchdowns. The senior wide receiver had three games with double digit catches. Against Husson he set school marks for catches (17) and receiving yards (236). He finished his career with a 3 touchdown game vs. Husson in the triple overtime 44-42 thriller. He will retire with over 2500 yards receiving in his 4 year career. This is Concepcion's fourth straight ECFC selection he was an ECFC First Team selection in 2010, 2011 and Second Team in 2009.

Small set career marks for carries (195) yards (1004) and touchdowns (10) in 2012. He is the first AMC running back to break the 1,000 yard plateau. The junior amassed three - 100 yard games and rushed for an insane 200 yards against Castleton State, totaling 1292 all-purpose yards on the season. He is fourth in the ECFC in touchdowns and 3rd in rushing yards. Small received ECAC Honorable Mention recognition in 2011.

Tight End Josh Sundquist had 38 receptions for 463 yards and a touchdown, averaging 51.4 yards per game and over 10 yards per catch, as the starting tight end in 2012. He had at least two catches in eight games for the AMCATS. His career day came vs. Norwich when the second year man had 10 catches for 104 yards.

Linebacker Jordan Koehler was the linchpin to the AMCAT defensive line. His 95 tackles (62 Solo/33 assisted) led the team in 2012. Koehler averaged 9.5 tackles a game good for 3rd in the ECFC. He had four games with double digits tackles including two monster games with 16 and 17 respectively. He had 9 tackles for a loss, equaling 23 yards. Koehler was also an ECFC Honorable Mention honoree.

The AMCATS also had four different players receive honorable mention in 2012 in sophomore linebacker Kevin Card (Deer Park, NY), freshman offensive lineman Kevin Grey (Middleboro, Mass.), senior kicker Jamal Mitchell (Shelton, Conn.), and senior punter Kyle Peterson (West Boylston, Mass.).
