Simone, Graham Earn ECFC Weekly Awards

Paxton, Mass. – Senior Santino Simone (Worcester, Mass.)  was named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Player of the Week while freshman Donald Graham (Stratford, Conn.) was named ECFC Rookie of the Week after the AMCATS stunning 44-42 triple overtime win on Saturday, by the conference earlier today.

The senior quarterback tied a career high with 349 passing yards, completing 30-of-51 with no interception and 4 touchdowns en route to the triple overtime victory over Husson University. Down 22-0 Santino orchestrated a fourth quarter comeback connecting with his favorite receiver Dom Concepcion for three touchdowns of 9, 28 and 13 yards respectfully. In the ensuing overtimes Simone had runs of 2 and 12 yards and hit freshman Donald Graham in the end zone for the two point conversion in the third OT to seal the win.

Freshman Donald Graham made the most of only the second and third catches of his career. With the AMCATS down by a touchdown in the first overtime, quarterback Santino Simone hit the wide receiver on the first play from scrimmage from the 25-yard line for the score and with the extra point sent the game to a second OT. In the third OT, and the game tied 42-42, Simone on a roll out to the right side hit the first year player in the end zone, where he made an incredible one-handed catch for the 2-point conversion and the win.
