Men’s Tennis Suffers 6-3 Setback Against Albertus Magnus

The Albertus Magnus men's tennis team earned a 6-3 win over Anna Maria on Friday afternoon in non-conference play in New Haven.  Led by wins in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, the Falcons cruised to a 4-2 showing in singles' play to secure the 6-3 victory.

Anna Maria's Dillon George posted a pair of wins, a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. flight and an 8-4 nod in tandem with Calvin Weeks at No. 1 doubles. Weeks won No.2 singles downing Albertus' Mathew Mezzei 6-4, 6-1.

Joe Ineson picked up his first win of the season with a 6-4, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles, while Dan Constantinidi won No. 4 singles with a score of 6-2, 6-3.  Elvis Santana won No. 5 singles with a pair of 6-3 set victories over Anna Maria's Tyler Crabb.

Ahmed Abdulateef won his second-striaght singles' match as he blanked Eric Boll with back-to-back 6-0 sets to improve to 2-0 in the No. 6 spot.

Santana and Nick Wiehler picked up a victory in No. 3 doubles by a score of 8-3, while Matt Messei and Constantinidi took No. 2 doubles with a 8-2 victory over Tim Patenaude and George Kiritsi.

Anna Maria will host Bridgewater State in non-conference play on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Anna Maria is 0-2 overall on the year.
