Equestrian places 9th in First Meet
PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria Equestrian team competed in their first ever meet this past weekend in Paxton with Becker College being the host. The AMCATS were able to place ninth in the meet despite being down riders.
All three riders that participated in Saturday's event placed in their perspective classes, including a 1st place finish. Ella Smith was able to secure the 1st place spot in the Walk Trot Equitation on the Flat.
Gina Houghton who road in two event and placed in both. Houghton took 5th in the Novice Equitation on the Flat, while also taking 6th for Novice Equitation Over Fences.
Katie Barnes also was able to place in her event. Barnes participated in the Beginner Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat and was able to finish in 6th place.
The AMCAT riders will be competing again this Saturday at UMASS Dartmouth.
