HIGHLIGHTS

  • The AMCATS spotted the Beavers an early two-goal advantage before responding with three unanswered goals to close out the first period. Senior attacker Riley Cote (Tewksbury, MA) scored the AMCATS' first two goals of the game. The first was unassisted with 9:07 left in the quarter. The second came with just under four and a half minutes to play and was assisted by junior midfielder Raegan Hachey (Winthrop, MA). Senior attacker Lydia Rosen (Worcester, MA) scored her first goal of the season as the clock ticked under the four-minute mark.
  • The Beavers opened the second quarter with two more goals to take a 4-3 lead before the AMCATS again found the back of the net with two goals of their own. Senior midfielder Alice Yokabaskas (Boothbay Harbor, ME) beat the goalie with a shot with 5:52 left in the period for her second goal of the season. Less than three minutes later junior attacker Kyana Altif (Whitinsville, MA) found the back of the net for the first time this season and gave the AMCATS a 5-4 lead that they would carry into the locker room at halftime.
  • With less than a minute expired in the third quarter Cote recorded her first collegiate hat trick with another unassisted goal to push the lead to two. After the Beavers cut that lead in half, Hachey decided it was her turn to enforce her will on the game when she went coast to coast, drove through the Beaver defense, and scored with a shot from straight on net. Two more Beaver goals wrapped the third period with the game tied at seven.
  • Hachey put the AMCATS back in front again with an unassisted goal with 12:17 to play, but the Beavers responded with two of their own to retake the lead. With just over three minutes left in regulation, the AMCATS turned on the offensive might, scoring three goals in less than a minute. Cote assisted Hachey on the first goal and completed Hachey's second career hat trick at 3:22. At 2:51 sophomore attacker Ivy Ballou (Charlton, MA) scored her first collegiate goal on a free-position shot. Another free-position shot by sophomore midfielder Makayla Gleba with 2:27 to go capped the AMCATS scoring. A final goal from the Beavers with 1:52 remaining set the final margin and gave the AMCATS their first win of the season.
