Men's Soccer Downed by Raiders

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Men's Soccer team got a goal with less than 10 minutes to play as they earned their second win of the season in the 1-0 triumph over Anna Maria College.

Freshman Jack Blessing (Wakefield, RI) moved inside the 18 on a free kick along the goal line. Junior Danny Connelly (Bedford, NH) was able to send the ball into the six where Blessing was able to head the ball into the back of the net. It was Blessing's first collegiate goal of his career and more importantly it gave the Raiders their first conference win of the season.

Freshman Gary Archambault (Auburn, NH) recorded his second career shutout as he stopped all six shots he faced. Anna Maria's Andrew Dahl had a solid night with 12 saves in the loss.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Raiders as they travel to Saint Joseph's College for a Columbus Day GNAC contest. Anna Maria will host Emmanuel College on Monday as well as they look to earn their first conference victory.
