Football: AMCATS Place Ten on ECFC All-Academic Team

Paxton, Mass. – Anna Maria College football earned ten selection to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) 2013 All-Academic Team. Forty-eight student-athletes who participated during the 2013 season received recognition.

AMCAT seniors Andrew Nevit (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Tim Ray (Lynn, Mass.) were selected for the second consecutive year. Seniors Stephen Hart (North Salem, N.Y.), Tony Valente (Wilmington, Mass.), Mike Joseph (Marlboro, Mass.) and Jacob Young (Sturbridge, Mass.) received their first selection to the all-academic team.

Sophomores Ryan Dirienzo (North Granby, Conn.), Kolin Matthews (Seymour, Conn.), David Morrow (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Juan Palacio (Lowell, Mass.) were named to the academic team in their first year of eligibility.

To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing, have participated a minimum two years with the team and achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

Norwich University led the way with 13 selections on the 48 player team, while Anna Maria was second and Gallaudet rounded out the top three with eight selections.
