Cross Country Runs at Smith College Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.—The Anna Maria College cross country teams competed at the Smith College Co-Ed Invitational on Saturday. The men's team posted 172 points for a sixth place finish, while the women did not record a team score.

Junior Casey Quirk finished the race in 43rd with a time of 20:46.17. Sophomore Daniel Jodrey (Paxton, Mass.) finished in 52nd with a time of 21:28.99, while freshman Teddy Duchesne (West Barnstable, Mass.) was the third AMCAT to finish, tallying a 55th place finish with a time of 23:16.15.

The men's race was won by Springfield College, who had runners finish in the first three time slots. Clark University placed second, while Western New England took third. Fourth place and fifth place were held by St. Anselm College and Framingham State University.

On the women's side, junior Maureen Moore (Newbury, Mass.) finished in 44th with a time of 23:14.01. Sophomore Shannon Latour (Millbury, Mass.) was the next AMCAT across the line with an 88th place finish and a time of 27:41.71.

Mount Holyoke College took the top team slot, while the first runner to cross the line was from St. Anselm College.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, September 19th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
