Women's Cross Country has Record-Setting Day at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass.—The Anna Maria College women's cross country team had a record-setting day at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, as all seven runners bested their own records en route to a 32nd-place finish for the team.

Freshman Ashley Bricault (Cumberland, R.I.) averaged a pace of 6.47.5 to lead the AMCATS with a time of 21.05.93. Sophomore Maureen Moore (Newbury, Mass.) was the next AMCAT to cross the finish line, as she finished the race with a time of 21.31.27. Five slots behind her was sophomore Ashley Eccleston (Plymouth, Mass.), who recorded a time of 21:33.53.

The top-five for Anna Maria was rounded out by senior Kelsey Donnelly (Lakeville, Mass.) with a time of 22:32.35 and freshman Shannon Latour (Millbury, Mass.) with a time of 7:38.3.

Freshman Kayla Odeegaard (Milton, Mass.) and senior Olivia Batteron (Rockville, Conn.) finished sixth and seventh for Anna Maria with times of 24:03.19 and 25:01.04.

As a team, the AMCATS averaged a time of 22:05.37. The race featured 38 schools and was won by East Stroudsburg University. New Paltz State, Connecticut College, Holy Cross and Brandeis rounded out the top five team finishers.

Anna Maria will race again next weekend at the Worcester City Invitational. Race time is slated for 10:00 a.m.
