Cross-Country Falls in Season Opening Dual Match

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Anna Maria College cross-country team fell to Western New England College 34-24 in dual match action on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Maureen Moore (Newbury, MA) led the AMCATS finishing first in the 16-runner event with a time of 21:02 over the 5k distance, while teammate Ashley Eccleston (Plymouth, MA) was a close third with a time of 21:49.

Unfortunately Western New England placed six runners in the top en route to the victory.

Rounding out the AMCAT team  Elizabeth MacClennan (27:29), Rose Murphy (27:32), Laura Cabral (28:33), Danielle Reifowitz (30:24) and Nicole Luce (30:16) finished in ninth thru eleventh place respectively.

Anna Maria returns to the roadways on Saturday, September 7^th when they travel to Smith College for the SC Invitational.
