Bulldogs Too Much For Men's Lacrosse On Senior Day

PAXTON, MA. – The Anna Maria Men's lacrosse team (2-15; 1-9) hosted the Dean College Bulldogs (9-5; 5-5) on Friday, April 21st for a GNAC Conference Match at Caparso Field in Paxton, MA. The AMCATS lost the game 13-6.

After an early goal from the Bulldogs, Nathan Powers buried the AMCATS first goal of the game tying things up at one with six minutes left in the first quarter. With two minutes left in the quarter, the Bulldogs struck again with a goal to take the 2-1 lead over Anna Maria. Just a minute later, Tommy Girard tucked one away off a pass from Hank Gittines to tie the game back up before the second quarter.

Coming back in the second quarter the AMCATS took the lead early after Ethan Quinn scored off a pass from Aidan Foster. The Bulldogs were quick to respond however putting away two goals to take the lead over the AMCATS. With just over five minutes left before halftime, Aidan Foster tied things up again for the AMCATS. The Bulldogs would take the lead again however closing out the quarter over leading 5-4 over the AMCATS.

The AMCATS would score one goal in the third quarter as the Bulldogs began to surge past the AMCATS. The Bulldogs would go on to score seven unanswered goals before the AMCATS closed the game out with Powers scoring his second goal of the evening. Despite the AMCATS having the last word in the fourth quarter, it wouldn't be enough as they still found themselves behind the Bulldogs 13-6.

  • Nathan Powers dominated on face-offs going 17-20 with 9 ground balls.

Anna Maria men's lacrosse is back in action on Tuesday, April 25th where they will close out their regular season play on the road against the Rivier University Raiders. Opening face-off is at 7:00PM.
