McNamara Ties for 2nd at Trinity Invitational

FARMINGTON, CT – Nate McNamara (Leicester, Mass.) carded a 112 to finish tied for second at the Trinity Invitational Golf Tournament at Tunxis Plantation Country Club.  Inclement weather caused officials to shorten the tournament to 27 holes. McNamara covered the 9-hole first day with a round of 37. The senior handed in a 75 on day two to finish with a weekend score of 112.

Colin Whitney of Nichols College and Nick Smith of Elms College shared the individual title with weekend-low scores of 111. Trinity sophomore William Burchill (East Walpole, Mass.) shot an even par round of 72 today and classmate Donald Hunt (Andover, Mass.) handed in a 73, both finishing with a total score of 112, tying them for second in the individual field, along with Nathan McNamara of Anna Maria.

 

 Trinity senior Captain Jack Palley (Pelham, Mass.) and sophomore Alex Lynch (Greenwich, Conn.) each contributed 114's playing on the A team, while classmate Nicky Buenaventura (Weston, Mass.) also carded a 114, playing for the B squad.

 

Senior Jesse Simonson (Leicester, Mass.) was the only other AMCAT to finish in the top 50. Simonson shot a 49 on day one and a 79 final round to finish with a 128 and tied for 47th place.
