AMCATS Finish 2nd at RIC Fall Invitational

Providence, R.I.-Junior Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) shot a 75 (+3) to earn the medalist honors, while freshmen Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) and Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) also finished in the top three to lead the Rhode Island College men's golf team to victory at the Rhode Island College Fall Invitational at Triggs Memorial Golf Course on Friday afternoon.

Ford finished with a 77 (+5) on the day, which was good for second place, while Butler shot a 78 (+6) for third place.

As a team, the Anchormen finished with a score of 315. Anna Maria finished second with a team score of 344, while Emmanuel College placed third with a score of 373.

Sophomore Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) posted a score of 85 (+13), finishing the day in fifth place. Junior Brian Fitzgerald (Mansfield, MA) rounded out the RIC contingent with a score of 91 (+19), good for an eighth place finish.

Anna Maria junior Nathan McNamara (Leicester, MA) placed fourth overall with a score of 79 (+7). AMC freshman Chris Gosselin (Auburn, MA) and junior Brian Conrad (Holden, MA) placed sixth and seventh on the day with scores of 86 (+14) and 87 (+15), respectively.

Sophomore Jeff Alsip (Quincy, MA) was the top golfer for Emmanuel, finishing in a tie for eighth place after shooting a 91 (+19).

The win for Harper marks the fourth time in six competitions that the Anchormen have held medalist honors.
