NEW LONDON, CT. – On Tuesday, January 30th the Anna Maria College women's basketball team traveled to the Yarnall Athletic Center in New London, CT to take on the Mitchell College Mariners for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 75-65.
The AMCATS came out quick in the first quarter as they took an early 18-11 lead over the Mariners. However the lead would be short lived as the Mariners came barreling back in the second quarter out scoring the AMCATS 25-19. Narrowly ahead of the Mariners, the AMCATS led by just one point as the first half of the game came to a close with a score of 37-36.
Despite the AMCATS strong first quarter performance, the Mariners maintained control of the game throughout the second half as they outscored the AMCATS 20-13 in the third quarter and then 19-15 in the fourth quarter. The Mariners would end up on top with a score of 75-65 at the end of regulation.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Marinique Reddin posted 21 points in the matchup.
- Gina Parmenter was next in line with 20 points going 6 for 15 outside the shooting arc.
- Arianna Gonzalez and Arianna Saladini posted 10 points a piece.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Thursday, February 1st where they will host the Fitchburg State University Falcons for a non-conference matchup. Opening tip off is set for 6:00pm.
