Curry Stops Women’s Basketball At Tip-Off Tournament

MILTON, MA: The Anna Maria College women's basketball team lost 73-66 at Curry College on Friday evening in the Curry College Tip-Off Tournament in Milton, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Anna Maria freshman forward Marinique Reddin (Tampa, FL) continued her impressive rookie campaign, leading the AMCATS with 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
• Anna Maria senior guard Franchesca Hammond (Worcester, MA) finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
• Anna Maria senior guard Mariah Carey (Worcester, MA) added thirteen points.
• Colonels guard Kaitlynn Smith (Hull, Mass.) led Curry with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Junior guard Kristyanna Remillard (Abington, Mass.) recorded 15 points and three assists in the win. Colonels forward Kathryn Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) tallied 13 points with four blocks and nine rebounds.
• Down 12 late in the game, the AMCATs rallied to within six off a layup from Reddin with 17 seconds to go. But the host Colonels held on for the win.

Anna Maria will be back on the court on Saturday when they meet Fitchburg State in the consolation game.
