Softball Drops Two At Rivier

NASHUA, NH: The Anna Maria College softball team lost both ends of their double-header at Rivier University on Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action in Nashua, New Hampshire, being shutout 4-0 in game one before falling short 9-1 in the nightcap.

AMCAT HEADLINERS:

  • Sophomore pitcher / shortstop Eden Forget (Worcester, MA) struck out five Raiders in game one, allowing just eight hits over six innings.
  • Anna Maria senior first baseman Ashley Garcia (Cornwall, NY) picked up her second double of the year in the top of the second, doubling to left center, on of just five AMCAT hits in the first contest.
  • Down 1-0 in the top of the third of game two, the AMCATS scored their sole run of the night when sophomore catcher Saylor Costa (E. Providence, RI) hit an RBI single up the middle to score senior second baseman Michelle Cilley (Dracut, MA).
  • Senior right-handed pitcher Sabrina Liston (Rehoboth, MA) struck out three Raiders over four innings.

UP NEXT:
Anna Maria will be back on the field on Saturday when they host Simmons University in a 12:00 p.m. double-header.
