Late Goal Puts Lasers On Top

PAXTON, MA. – The Anna Maria College Men's Soccer team hosted the Lasell University Lasers on Tuesday, September 5th for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Matchup. The AMCATS Lost the game 2-1.

Scoreless after the first half, the AMCATS came out strong with a pair of scoring opportunities just minutes into the half. However it would be the Lasers that found themselves up on the board first with a goal from Ryan Klopchin off a crossbar header from Dillon Winklemann. Battling back and forth, the AMCATS desperately fought to tie the game up. It wasn't until the 79 minute mark when Nate Wray buried the AMCATS first goal off a corner kick from Hezekiah Adeyeye. Tied up at one a piece, with just ten minutes left to play, the AMCATS looked to get some offense going. However a late goal from the Lasers with just over six minutes left closed the game out with the AMCATS sitting behind the Lasers 2-1.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Valter Santiago made six saves on eight shots on goal
  • Naje Wray scored his first career goal.
