Men's Soccer Falls in Opener to Curry College

MILTON, MASS.: The Anna Maria College Men's Soccer team kicked off the 2022 season with a 3-1 road loss this evening against the Curry College Colonels.

THE BASICS:

• Date: Thursday, September 1, 2022
• Score: Anna Maria 1, Curry 3
• Records: Anna Maria AMCATS (0-1-0) | Curry Colonels (1-0-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore midfielder Rubelsi Moran (Holden, MA) scored the AMCATS first goal of the year in the 56th minute. Freshman Flobatir Abdou (Lancaster, MA) and senior Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, RI) were credited with the helpers.
• Graduate goalkeeper Valter Santiago (Norwood, MA) opened his AMCAT career making eight saves.
• Sophomore forward Lucas Drons (Bellingham, MA) found the back of the net two times for the Colonels. Drons quickly broke the seal on the scoring, using an assist from Adam Pforr (Weymouth, MA) at the 1:41 mark. His second goal came after the AMCATS had cut the Colonels' lead in half when he scored unassisted at 73:42.
• Ean McGonigle (Rehoboth, MA) tallied the second goal for the Colonels at 13:21.
