Men’s Soccer Falls At Salem State

- SALEM, MA : The Anna Maria College men's soccer team lost 7-0 at Salem State University on Wednesday evening.

THE BASICS:

- Records: Vikings of Salem State (3-3) | AMCATS of Anna Maria (0-4-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Anna Maria freshman goalkeeper David Flores (San Antonio, TX) finished with five saves for the AMCATS, going the distance in net.
  • Salem State senior midfielder Fabricio Torres (Lima, Peru) struck less than two minutes into the game, finding the back of the net to put the Vikings ahead 1-0.
  • Salem State freshman forward Kendy Prince (Medford, MA), who entered the game as the Vikings' leading scorer, scored his seventh career goal as the hosts went into halftime leading 2-0.
  • Salem State freshman midfielder Cam Downer (Dracut, MA) scored in the 63rd minute when Prince found him on a cross.
  • This opened the floodgates for the Vikings, as senior midfielder Lucas Amaral (Peabody, MA), Torres, junior forward Jaylin Cordes (Winthrop, MA) and freshman forward Endi Doku (Peabody, MA) would round out the scoring.
