Lyons Bombarded Men’s Lacrosse In Home Opener 21-7

PAXTON, MA. – The Anna Maria Men's lacrosse team (0-1) fell to the Wheaton College Lyons (1-0) 21-7 on Wednesday afternoon at Caparso Field.

The AMCATS were held scoreless after the first 15 minutes of play with Wheaton leading 4-0.

A pair of goals from Tommy Girard (Newbury, MA) started things off for the AMCATS however it would not be enough to hold off the Lyons. 

The AMCATS scored three goals in the second quarter, three goals in the third quarter and were held at one goal in the fourth quarter.

Girard led the AMCATS with 2 goals. Aiden Foster (Rehoboth, MA), Hank Gittines (Shrewsbury, NJ), Liam Bedenkop (Marson Mills, MA), Nathan Powers (Putney, VT) and Brennan Fields (Chicopee, MA) each collected a goal in the AMCATS effort against the Lyons.

  • Wheaton is 3-0 in their last three matchups against Anna Maria.

Anna Maria men's lacrosse is back in action on Sunday, February 19th where they will head to Purchase, NY to take on the Manhattanville College Valiants. Opening face off is at 1:00PM.
