Men’s Lacrosse Season Comes To End On Senior Night

PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team concluded their 2022 season with an 11-7 loss to visiting St. Joseph's College of Maine on Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Caparso Field in Paxton.

SENIOR DAY:
Prior to the game, the AMCATS recognized their graduating senior class as part of senior day. Midfielder Malik Pina (Brockton, MA), attacker Quinn Hannagan (South Windsor, CT), midfielder Eric Glover (Baldwinville, MA), midfielder Nicholas Rempp (Agawam, MA), defender Nick Stagias (Sturbridge, MA), midfielder Seth Zolda (Hammonton, NJ), defender Zack Lavoie (Glocester, RI), defender John Krumm (Holtsville, NY) and attacker Nick Massaro (West Haven, CT) were honored by coaches, teammates, family members and fans for their time with the men's lacrosse program. Although their time with the program may be ending they will forever be a part of the AMCAT family.

TURNING POINT:

  • Down by one at halftime, the AMCATS surrendered three straight goals in quick succession to open the third quarter. Anna Maria attempted to rally, but Saint Joseph's pulled away late to bring their season to an end.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Saint Joseph's sophomore attacker Timothy Goodfellow (Wayland, MA), entering the day as the Monks' leading scorer, tallied two goals with two assists and seven ground balls.
  • Anna Maria fifth-year senior goalkeeper Griffin Moore (Worcester, MA) – playing in the final game of his career – tallied nine saves in net. He will finish his collegiate career as the AMCATS' third all-time leader in career stops with 349.
  • Saint Joseph's juniors Max Lacy (Salisbury, NH) and Xavier Michaud (Wales, ME) tallied two goals and two assists each.
  • Anna Maria junior midfielder Tommy Girard (Newbury, MA) concluded his breakout season for the 'Cats, scoring three goals on the night for a hat trick.
  • Saint Joseph's freshman attacker Calvin Heline (Amesbury, MA) added two goals.
  • Anna Maria freshman attacker Nicolas Pasqualini (Mystic CT) finished with two goals on the evening.
  • Anna Maria sophomore attacker Ethan Quinn (Dudley, MA) and freshman midfielder Brennan Fields (Chicopee, MA) each scored for the AMCATS.
  • Anna Maria freshman midfielder Nathan Powers (Putney, VT) finished his rookie year by tallying nine ground balls. His 97 ground balls this year are the most in a season for the AMCATS since 2014.
