Lasers & Lightning Sinks Men’s Lacrosse
PAXTON, MA: The Anna Maria College men's lacrosse team lost 11-3 to visiting Lasell University on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Caparso Field in Paxton in a contest marred by weather delays.
THE BASICS:

TURNING POINT:
- Less than two minutes into the second half, the game was suspended due to lightning with the visitors leading 5-3. When play finally resumed an hour and a half later, the Lasers coasted, scoring six unanswered goals the rest of the way.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- With 6:54 to go in the first quarter, Anna Maria senior attacker Nick Massaro (West Haven, CT) scored to tie it up at 1-1 for the home team.
- The AMCATS would take their first lead of the game at 2-1 with 4:05 to go in the game off a goal from freshman midfielder Brennan Fields (Chicopee, MA) with an assist to senior midfielder Eric Glover (Baldwinville, MA).
- With 9:06 remaining in the second quarter, Glover found the back of the net to put Anna Maria up 3-2, that goal assisted by senior attacker Quinn Hannagan (South Windsor, CT).
- The AMCATS trailed 4-3 at halftime and 5-3 when the game stopped due to weather conditions.
- Anna Maria senior goalkeeper Griffin Moore (Worcester, MA) finished with 14 saves in net for the home team.
- Anna Maria freshman midfielder Nathan Powers (Putney, VT) tallied 10 ground balls to lead the AMCATS, the second-highest game total of his young career.

Anna Maria will be back on the field on Wednesday when they travel to Regis College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
