Byrne Buries Three In Men’s Ice Hockey Win Over Greyhounds 5-3

WORCESTER, MA: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled down the road to the Worcester Ice Center on Tuesday night to face off against the Assumption University Greyhounds. The AMCATS won the game 5-3.

THE BASICS:

HIGHLIGHTS

• After a quick goal from assumption to start the game off, the AMCATS returned the favor with a power play goal from Matthew Byrne six minutes into the first period. (Assisted by Derek Raposo and Cam Tobey).
• Less than two minutes later Byrne found himself on the board again with a goal to give the AMCATS the lead over the Greyhounds. (Assisted by Patrik Pelota and Braeden McKinnon).
• Carter Anderson less than two minutes later tucked away the AMCATS third goal in the first twenty minutes of play giving the AMCATS a 3-1 lead over the Greayhounds. (Assisted by Justin Taylor)
• After two Greyhound goals the AMCATS went into the third period tied up at three with Assumption.
• Fifteen minutes into a scoreless third period Matthew Byrne found the back of the net to collect his third goal of the night and his first career hat trick giving the AMCATS the lead with five minutes left. (Assisted by Guillaume Coulombe and Braeden McKinnon)
• To end the game Cam Tobey tucked away an empty net goal to secure the AMCATS victory 5-3 over the Greyhounds.
