SUNY Canton Doubles Down On Men’s Hockey 4-2

CANTON, NY: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled to Canton, NY on Friday night to face off against the SUNY Canton Roos. The AMCATS lost the game 4-2.

THE BASICS:

• Date: Friday, January 27, 2023
• Score: SUNY Canton 4, Anna Maria 2
• Records: SUNY Canton Roos 9-12 | Anna Maria AMCATS 8-11-1

HIGHLIGHTS

• With less than a minute left in the first period a late power play goal from Canton put the Roos up 1-0 going into the second period.
• Tucking in their second goal the Roos lead 2-0 with just over 12 minutes left in the second period.
• The AMCATS responded quick with a goal from Braeden McKinnon assisted by Carter Anderson on the power play. 
• Trailing 2-1 at the close of the second period the AMCATS tied the game up with a minute left with a goal from Brandon Della Paolera assisted by Matthew Byrne on the power play.
• Tied up at two going into the AMCATS can't keep the momentum rolling giving up a goal early in the third. 
• Scratching back for 15 minutes the AMCATS couldn't find the back of the net and the Roos closed the game out with an empty net goal for a final score of 4-2.
