Men’s Ice Hockey Comes Back To Beat Franklin Pierce 4-2

WINCHENDON, MA: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled north on Tuesday, January 17th to take on the Franklin Pierce University Ravens at the Jason Ritchie Arena in Winchendon, MA. The AMCATS won 4-2.

THE BASICS:

• Date: Tuesday, January 17, 2023

HIGHLIGHTS

• After a goal from Franklin Pierce early in the first period the AMCATS close out the first twenty minutes down by one.
• Giving up a power play goal in the first 6 minutes of the second period the AMCATS found themselves now down by two goals with just under fifteen minutes left in the second period.
• Putting up a grand total of twenty shots in the second period the AMCATs struggled to get past the Ravens Goaltender before a late power play goal from Giovanni Perillo puts the AMCATS on the board. He was assisted by Bryan Sinclair and Cam Tobey.
• After cutting the Ravens lead in half the AMCATs regrouped at the end of the second period resulting in a quick goal to tie things up three minutes into the third period. Aryan Batra found the back of the net off a backdoor pass from Matt Gilbert.
• All tied up the AMCATS battled back and forth with the Ravens before Nolan Shaw found the back of the net off a back door pass from Tobey. Giving the AMCATS the lead with under four minutes left to play. August Bouveng received the secondary assist. 
• To close the game out Braeden McKinnon found the empty net off an assist from Tobey to secure the win over the RAVENS 4-2.
