Four AMCATS Light the Lamp as Men's Ice Hockey Overwhelm Raiders

NASHUA, NH: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled to meet the Rivier University Raiders at the Horgan Arena on Saturday evening.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The AMCATS opened the scoring with a pair of goals only 45 seconds apart in the first period. Senior center Patrik Peltola (Espoo, Finland) scored the first goal on a bad angle shot off of a faceoff won by junior August Bouveng (Nynamshamns, Sweden) at the 2:35 mark.
  • Senior winger Michael Padgeon (Sellersville, PA) scored the second goal when he fired from just to the left of the left face-off dot. Junior center Guillaume Coulombe (Ste-Julie, QC) and senior winger Nolan Shaw (Peabody, MA) were credited with the assists.
  • The AMCATS would pad their lead when they scored at the 2:35 mark for the second consecutive period. This time it was senior winger Aryan Batra (Franklin, MI) who did the deed. Batra forced a turnover inside the AMCATS offensive zone and knocked the puck away to junior defenseman Samson Mouland (Hay River, NT) who gave the puck back to Batra for a quick slapper through the Raiders goalie.
  • Senior defenseman Cam Tobey capped the AMCATS scoring with a power play goal with just under eight minutes remaining in the second period. After the Raiders failed to clear the puck sophomore defenseman Derek Raposo (Hannon, ON) kept the puck in at the point and passed it over to Tobey for the one-timer.
  • Rivier sophomore winger Nicolas Paolucci (Toronto, ON) scored what would end up being the final goal of the game with just under four minutes remaining in the second period. Freshman Jack Tos (Burlington, ON) and Zach Winslow (St. Pete Beach, FL) were credited with the assists
