Men’s Ice Hockey Falls Short In Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, MA: The Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team lost 2-1 at Fitchburg State on Saturday evening in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Down 2-0 late in the second period, Anna Maria freshman right defenseman Derek Raposo (Hannon, ON) scored his second career goal on an even-strength shot, assisted by fellow rookie Colby Wolter (Falun, AB) with 3:26 left in the period. It was Wolter's ninth assist of the season, tied for third on the team.  
• Anna Maria senior goaltender Brendan Boncore (Oakland, MI) tallied 30 saves in net.
• The Falcons received goals from freshman forwards Samuel Rennick (Salisbury, MA) and Michael Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI), while senior netminder Christopher Mattone (New Windsor, NY) stopped of 30 of 31 shots on net.
