Men’s Basketball Rallies To Victory Over Saints

BOSTON, MA: Trailing for most the game, the Anna Maria College men's basketball team rallied to a 76-62 win at Emmanuel University on Tuesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Andy Yosinoff Court in Boston.

THE BASICS:

TURNING POINT:

• Down 46-38 with 13:35 left in the game, the AMCATS turned to the long-ball to help embark on a 13-0 run, a stretch that included two three-pointers from Anna Maria freshman forward Sean Zabari (Miami, FL) and one from sophomore guard Trevian Grenon (Sutton, MA) to surge into the lead. The AMCATS never looked back.

 HIGHLIGHTS: 

• Grenon led the AMCATS with 20 parts, the second-highest scoring total of this, his rookie season. He also shot four-of-six from behind the arc and pulled down seven rebounds.
• Anna Maria sophomore guard Jakai Alexandre (Fitchburg, MA) showed why he's one of the best playmakers in the conference, dishing out a season-high ten assists to go along with 11 points, seven rebounds, a block and a steal.
• Anna Maria sophomore forward Gabe Armstead (Dallas, GA) finished with 13 points while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
• The AMCATS shot 50 percent from behind the arc on 9-of-18 shooting, their best three-point shooting performance since February 4, 2020, during an 81-64 win at Saint Joseph's College.
• Emmanuel sophomore guard Donte Pope (Middletown, CT) led the Saints with 18 points and seven rebounds.
