Second Half Surge Sees Albertus Magnus Soar Past Men’s Basketball

NEW HAVEN: The Anna Maria College men's basketball team lost 102-76 at Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at the Nest in New Haven, Connecticut.

TURNING POINT:

  • After a hotly contested first half that saw the AMCATS go into halftime with a five-point lead, the Falcons pulled away in the second half, using a 16-2 run to take command.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Anna Maria senior guard Ralph Grasso, Jr. (Marlborough, MA) continued his blistering shooting of late, leading all scorers with 19 points including 15 in the first half. Grasso shot 9-of-14 from the field with five rebounds.
  • Anna Maria senior guard Kennedy Minix-Rogers (Smyrna, GA) dished out nine assists to go along with ten points and two steals.
  • Albertus Magnus senior guard Davon Warner (New Haven, CT) finished with 19 points off the bench to lead the Falcons.
  • Albertus Magnus senior forward Terry Dawkins (Bronx, NY) posted 12 points with six rebounds while junior center Justice Washington (Hamden, CT) had a double-double with 10 and 12.
  • The AMCATS turned the ball over 18 times in the second half and 29 overall, leading to 28 points by the Falcons.
