Valiants Cut Down Field Hockey 3-1

HARRISON, NY. – On Sunday, October 8th the Anna Maria College Field Hockey team traveled to Harrison, NY to take on the Manhattanville College Valiants for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 3-1.

The Valiants struck first with a goal from Julia Huertas half way through the first quarter. The rest of the quarter would be filled with fouls from both teams seeing just one shot on goal for the last seven minutes of the quarter. The next goal of the game would come just a minute into the third quarter as the Valiants tacked on their second goal of the match off the stick of Megan Keaveney. Leading by two over the AMCATS, the Valiants would find the back of the net again just ten minutes later as Felicity Williams put away Manhattanville's third goal. The AMCATS would finally get an answer with less than a minute left to play in the third quarter as Nicole Lacoste scored the AMCATS first goal of the day. Unfortunately this would be the only goal scored for the AMCATS as the fourth quarter would end up scoreless resulting in a 3-1 win for the Valiants.
